Fort Myers, FL (May 21, 2009) – Bennett’s Fresh Roast in downtown Fort Myers will be going All-American this 4th of July with a star-spangled picnic.
“Even though it’s been a rough year for most, we still have a lot to celebrate living in such a great country,” said Bob Grissinger, owner of Bennett’s and former radio personality C. David Bennett. “While this is something we don’t normally do, we wanted to make an exception on our country’s birthday so we could celebrate alongside our friends and neighbors.”
Bennett’s 4th of July menu will include pan-fried and smothered Pennsylvania Dutch fried chicken, corn pudding, butter sautéed green beans, garden salad, fresh baked biscuits, homemade whipped potatoes, and a choice of two desserts: apple pie or three flavors of homemade fruit sorbets served in champagne. Coffee and iced tea are also included. Beer, wine and soft drinks will be available for an additional purchase.
Located off of West First Street at 2011 Bayside Parkway, Bennett’s is located in a bright and colorful 2000 square foot shop inside a lovingly restored 1943 former home.
In addition to fresh roasted coffee, Bennett’s features hand-cut fresh donuts, pastries, breakfast strata and breakfast sandwiches, fresh desserts, light lunches and snacks, specialty teas, unique wines, and unusual beers. They also carry a large variety of retail ware and a high-end line of home coffee roasters, Bodum glassware, espresso machines and Techni-vorm coffee brewers, the only coffee brewer certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America.
Tickets will only be sold in advance while they last. Availability is limited. Two seating times are being offered at 4:30 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at the shop for $20 per person. Bennett’s is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
